Will physical media make a comeback?

Seems like the world is heading in a purely digital direction and im wondering what y'all think about that. There's been a resurged interest in vinyl and older game systems in the past few years but not so much in terms of video or other forms of audio. Why do u guys think that is, and do u think itll change soon?

all i hope is tapes don't become as overpriced as other retro shit has gotten xp

i'm a big vhs tape collector and i've noticed a lot more people getting into the scene which has effected prices drastically, particularly for horror tapes (especially when shopping online on sites like ebay) due to the increasing demand and decreasing availability. i started to realize tapes were having their moment again when walmart released that terrifier 3 vhs tape last year and most locations sold out lol. i think music cassettes are safe for a few more years... hopefully they're too inconvenient for most people to want to bother with them cause i'd hate to see their prices go up xd

from what i've noticed there are a lot of people in my age group who feel fed up with having been raised in a digitally-conquered society, and that's why a lot of them (myself included) are attracted towards simpler and more analogue technology. i do kind of think physical media will become even more prevalent in the coming years despite how overwhelming digital tech seems for that reason. like you said we've already seen it happen with vinyl and retro gaming, its bound to happen with other media! well maybe not 8-tracks, but, you never know.
