i already made a blog about this, but the word bug actually refers specifically to the order Hemiptera, that only includes tree/leafhoppers, cicadas and stink bugs (maybe aphids id have to check) to note
i want to be petty about it, but then what else are you meant to call them?? anybody have an alternative names . ‸ .

this post is old i need to get into forums bro. but ya while bug mite technicly refer specificly to the hemiptera order it allso colloqually refers to any insect-like critter and the only ppl who actully care enouth to be like "UM ACTULLY" about it are annoying imo . if i point at a spider and say "hey look at that cool bug" ur gunna know wat im talking about so its not a big deal outside of actual scientific study u know?
