WARNING: IF YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS MOVIE, I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU WATCH IT BEFORE READING MY THOUGHTS! 

ok, hopefully all those new viewers left. lets get into the review. i first saw this movie last year which is shocking given that it is such a great film. i first heard of this movie in papa meat video collab with wendigoon. 

i wasnt expecting much, found footage always has a place in my heart but it is easy format to mess up the immersion. now this movie tackles TWO of my favorite subgenres EVER which would be religious horror and found footage. the movie is about these three guys who investigate a supposed religious phenomenon or "miracle". 

tackling the idea of belief is so so so interesting to me (which will be brought up again when i say the ending). but these three men hold varying levels of skepticism despite their belief (besides maybe Gray who i remember stating that he doesn't believe in god), it is soooo interesting how they go about both denying the existence of the claims ppl make.

with this denial comes the greatest line ever by Gray (will get into in a sec)

the ending of this movie is so unique. so brutal. so jaw-dropping.. (im skipping the entire plot) but after exorcizing (or attempting to) the church, deacon and gray end up going down a stairwell deeper and deeper into the church where deacon begins to see visions of father mark (who he knows is dead). eventually the walls of this underground area gets tighter and tighter, where it eventually becomes so tight that neither of the men can move, the ways sound and look squishy and flesh and spew out drops of a liquid burning the skin of the men. surprise! the land is alive!!! it is attempting to digest the men thru a stomach acid of sorts. the most haunting part, is gray crying out loud "you said it wasnt real". this isnt the divine. this is a monster. 

AHHHH amazing movie, i love it soooooo bad!
