Forum: Games

just wondering if anyone here’s into retro stuff like PSP, PS2, GBA, or any of that pixel/low-poly era

i’ve been playing some classics recently and tbh they hit way harder than a lot of new stuff

but i’m into modern games too — story-based, indie, or anything that just feels different

like if it has a vibe, i’m in

drop your fav retro & modern games below

or any hidden gems i should try 🎮

let’s talk!

Lately I've been getting the urge to get back into playing Roller Coaster Tycoon. Maybe this time I'll finally get good at building coasters.

I loved the PS2 era of games. It's when I first really started getting into gaming and I remember Timesplitters 2 being mine and my cousins' favorite game back then. Looking back it looks a bit goofier than I remember but the low poly style of most ps2 games is so nostalgic.

I've been interested in game design and think that recreating that low poly aesthetic is def the way I'd go if I wanted to make a game. So nostalgic (and easier to hit your mark on than realistic 3d models lol)

unfortunally i don't know many games from the retro era, however, i have played one just because of it's fighting system, and that would be the Kurohyou games (1 & 2), they are form the yakuza franchise and the soundtrack and fighting system are AWESOME!

Armored Core for sure, shit was always tough to play but it was a blast once you got an understanding for how it feels and how to build your units up.
