I've always been biased, growing up as a wee-lad watching the OG films, I identified with Luke so very much. Always wanting to see what was beyond that next hill, aching for adventure... wondering about my father (Luke and I had some similar familial issues in that regard). So I spent a lot of my early childhood obsessed with Luke.
Entering into my teen years, I definitely had that angsty streak where I found myself identifying with Anakin Skywalker in the prequels, I could "understand" his anger, even if I disagreed with where it led him.
Nowadays, I'm partial to lesser known characters from the Expanded Universe. Though I suppose Kyle Katarn is a big enough name in gamer circles to not be considered "lesser known".
Thinking about characters, and dwelling on "lesser known". I wonder if we would ever get Star Wars content (whether it be comic, novel, or some other media) of the "Pius Dea" Era. (It's been explained to me as a very... Warhammer 40k-esque time period in The Galaxy, complete with religious institutions trying to take over everything, and giant cathedral ships roaming the galaxy.) I think some interesting characters could be found there.
I digress completely, so forgive the exposition: I'd say I'm a big fan of the ol' smuggler with a heart-o-gold, Han Solo. I am quite piqued with the interpretation of Middle-Aged Ben Kenobi from The Kenobi show (Admin Jacob, you ought to give it a watch! if you can move past the poor execution on the parts involving the character of Reva!) and Corran Horn is a good Pilot-turned-Jedi, and he even was recently recanonized!
P.S. I spent an ungodly amount of time as a young teenager glued to Wookieepedia, it's an absolute treasure trove of information and lore... but I would dive into the materials they summarize from, it's much more enjoyable! Also, I am glad we got some Heroes on the Coke Zero bottles! Picked up Grogu today during work! lol
