since nothing is active, why not start it myself ? hi, my name is riley and i am a huge fan of ito . started collecting his books november of 2024, so that makes me a fan for 8 months going on 9 💪.

here are a few questions !

- what got you into junji ito ?

- what is the first book youve ever read ?

- who is your favorite character ?

- what is your favorite book collection ?

- how many books do you own ?

i got into junji ito from the 2023 japanese tales of the macabre, but i didnt really get "into" it completely until next year halloween, when i watched junji ito collection. i was supposed to watch it earlier, but i was too dumb to realise that it wa free on youtube in both japanese AND english. so... yeah ;,D .

the first book ive read was soichi. during my watch of tales of the macabre, i hated soichi with a passion. so much that the hatred for this fictional boy somehow carried two years later .. and just by first glance during my watch of the collection on halloween i muttered "oh god is this soichi" eventually i warmed up to him (aka in 3 minutes of the first episode) and now hes my favorite character ever. (if youve checked my profile, you could tell).

parotting what i said before but again, soichi. soichi is so relatable in the sense that hes always been the weird one of the classroom, obsessed will all things horror (both japanese horror and foreign horror), his love for vampires, annoying his brother (and though i do not have a brother, i have friends whom i visualize as my own siblings. they think the same with me), and just being a lil creepster. though i have switched between fuchi and chizumi too.

oh look at me repeating myself.. SOICHI LOL. the stories are just goofy as hell. i reread a lot. though, the other two favorites i have are frankenstein and dissolving classroom. honestly, dissolving classroom is too underrated. i love chizumi sm <3

and lastly, the books i own are shiver, lovesickness, frankenstein, smashed, soichi, alley, venus in the blind spot, liminal zone 2 (sadly not 1), black paradox, dissolving classroom, stitches, the big three (gyo, uzumaki & tomie), uncanny, yon and mu cat diary, and twisted visions (the art book). i also have soichi's diary of curses (two books from japan). so, 19 in total.

as you can tell, im a big fan. i hope ppl answer these, ive been typing for almost half an hour. love you, and have a creepy day xoxo.
