Introduction

Hi!! My name is Salem, and I'm the moderator of this group. I use he/him pronouns. 

I have had a fascination with the 90s for pretty much my entire life, to the point that I watch movies/listen to music almost exclusively from the 20th century, use a landline, use a discman, limit social media usage, dress in 90s clothes, eat 90s foods, etc. I plan to some day get a flip phone from that era. I pretend that it's 1990-1999 every day, and my goal in making this group is to find other people who do that.

I believe my obsession stems from a lot of factors, like the fact that my childhood was actually quite reminiscent of the 90s, because I was dirt poor and couldn't a lot of newer things. Like my elementary school had ancient toys, chalkboards instead of whiteboards, worksheets from the 90s and early 2000s, discontinued crayon colours from that era, etc. Like it was fucking cool and I should have appreciated it at the time. I also believe that a lot of things were viewed in a different, more lax way. Obviously the 90s had a lot of issues, but the positive, nostalgic aspects are what i focus more on. I think that the invention of hyperconnected social media is one of the biggest social issues right now, and no one ever talks about it. I think it's zapped away people's creativity.

I'm also into psychology, religion, philosophy, fashion, history, etc. I'm an extrovert and I like meeting new people. I would really like to meet people who share a lot of my views.
