How the hell does one learn how to draw?

I know this question is stupid, and most of you will tell "just start", but is that really the case?

What I'm here to ask is, will devoting an hour to draw random things on a page would really make me good at drawing? There was a video of PewDiePie where he drew faces every single day, and he really improved a lot.

I wanna draw an OC and make it my pfp so bad bro

Other than that, I gotta learn pixel art for my video game otherwise it's doomed

A good way to start is through replication, like Pewds! Familiarize yourself with the movements when drawing first and then you can start with the basics (guideline for the face, anatomy, shading, lineart, etc.). This is also how I learned, definitely took some time though.

well yeah if you practice drawing smthng for a hour a day you can improve but its not rlly just that you gotta have a learning mindset-- meaning when you draw things instead of just drawing it with 0 thoughts besides copying try to understand why things are placed the way they are or how they work together with what ur trying to draw, imo thinking that way when i use refs has helped me remember stuff lol so i wont constantly have to have a ref everytime i draw. and also art takes a long time but if you practice smart youll get better at it faster-- u got this just keep practicing B)

USE REFERENCES, either reference other artist or just images of things. Look at how other people draw, how they break down shapes and build up things. Practice makes progress, theirs a lot of tutorials and resources available for free, things like anatomy books can help a lot. But even just something as simple as a stupid doodle you can improve from, have fun with it
