Hello everyone,

I've just recently visited the UK for about 4 and a half days. Unfortunately the trip wasn't for leisure and was actually for quite serious reasons so I couldn't really get the opportuntity to look at the tourist spots or "grab a pint" as many do there. Overall a very unremarkable trip - except for something that came up just as I was leaving.

On my last day when I was departing at the London Heathrow Airport, I was really baffled as to why they had signs everywhere saying "The Queen's Terminal" even though we've known that for about 3 years now. Can any brits explain to me why they still have these signs up? Is this how people found out? It's bothered me to no end and I really need an explanation... thanks in advance.

Interesting question! I’ve noticed airports keeping historical or themed names too. Makes me wonder how it compares to Aeropuertos en California, where some airports also have special names or sections highlighted for travelers.
