I hate sponsor segments with a passion. I know that there's a good
side to it; that being the money some YouTube users can make by taking
them. And yes some can creatively incorporate the sponsors in their
videos, but no matter what they do it feels so fake. I can fill three A4
pages (both sides) with my opinions about sponsor segments and the
sponsors themselves, but it would just be a sludge of thoughts that go
absolutely nowhere. I do want to express my frustration for specific
types of sponsor segments.
watching a video recollecting the most horrible thing in the world like
"Life after the atomic bomb || interview with a survivor" or "The girl
under the carpet. The cruel murder of [...]." (Fake titles by the way)
and the fucking narrator would transition into the sponsor like this:
'Jennie could have survived if only she had "NordVPN" on her side.'.
Yea, sure, let's follow that up with a sponsor segment about some scam
of a company. Most of the times it isn't a transition into a segment,
rather a cut. Why does it matter how it's done when it feels so
disrespectful. Get your bag but do it some other way than digging
peoples graves up. Not as annoying but still bad is shoving a "Like and
subscribe" somewhere in there. Because this type of content is usually
formatted as educational it's like watching a professor finish his
lecture like: 'Those were the crusades. Make sure you study and follow
me on "LinkedIn" and "Facebook" so that you never miss my family
vacation photos.' The sponsors are never on theme as well.
suggestion is get a "Patreon" or get the money somewhere else, 'cause
talking about horrible tragedies just isn't your thing.
