I was thinkingz abt it... and YES! imo they TOTALLY RUINED IT!!! .. all about more people being apart of the EMO and SCENE... well scene but they listen to ONLY pop punk and call themself EMO. I call it TIKTOK/POSER emo... its fucking annoying... wut do we think? .x.

a little bit... a little bit... It has caused me to revisit my emo "phase" which wasn't really a phase since I have continued to enjoy emo music, just started listening to other stuff. It introduced me to chiodos, I have that to thank for it... but ya other than that it has kind of negatively impacted it in a way...

tiktok has caused irreparable damage to a lot of things... but there are still people who are part of the subcultures tiktok has bastardized in earnest, most of them are just offline and harder to find if you don't know where to look

Honestly things like this make me glad that I've never used TikTok, like, at all. I wouldn't go calling myself a "real emo," or anything like that (I'm more goth than anything), but seeing how TikTok irreparably damages literally every community it touches by over-simplifying and misinterpreting most of their aspects depresses me to no end.
