It's always kind of rubbed me the wrong way that the Mass flag has basically just one thing on it, a Native American (Who I'm pretty sure is supposed to be a man from the Massachusett, the tribe the state is named after) standing with a bow and arrow, supposedly meant to represent "peace". Personally, I don't understand how that represents Massachusetts at all. Isn't it kind of weird to make the main emblem of the state a "peaceful" portrait of the people the land is stolen from? I don't know. I'd like to hear someone else's thoughts on this. I did hear recently that the state seal, flag, and other state imagery are open to submission for change as of recently because of pushback, which is good.
