DELTARUNE CHAPTERS 3+4

i absolutely loved the new chapters! i am pretty excited for ch 5 to release and i must say i have some weird theories on what's going on.
out of the new chapters my favorite one has got to be chapter 3 due to it's charming style and experimental gameplay aspects with the new minigames (i loved all of em) specially the rhythm minigame!
funny how toby expected tenna to be taken as just "a spamton copy" cause tenna is absolutely incredible! couldn't have thought of something better for the chapter. and the mantle plot with ramb and the secret minigame is awesome! and certainly creates more questions for the next chapters... like how the mantle or "ERAM" says that kris is still being used both by the player, or by the other parties they are affiliated with.
the man and the egg are not what i expected at all. (i had to reset the chapter like 2 times cus i didn't know how to get the egg) but it was worth it, its interesting knowing more about the nature of the mysterious man, but i think he is there to explain things about kris themselves!
like how he (supposedly) cheated card games by creating fake cards and painting them which created the little npcs in the MAN's world, and the one in chapter 4 with the whole "painting therapy" section which really draws more confusion about what kris is going through.

having said that here are some of my theories regarding both chapters:
-carol is the knight! yeah... i think carol is the knight, not only because of the tools it uses or that the horns are similar but also it's motive, carol seems to be a very cold person (pun intended) but still caring for others around her, and the knight, even tho it seems like an unstoppable force, still acts rationally and seems to be pretty calculated on it's actions. it's like the knight knows exactly where and how things are going and down and is actively going for it. carol also is in cahoots with kris, and we have seen that the knight does not actively hurt kris (when they're alone), and kris themselves do not go against the knight unless they are forced to. but just in case this theory is not correct i have another

-carol and kris are working together against the knight! ok, this might seem weird, but i also have a hunch that carol would be working with kris and asgore to try and stop the roaring herself, or even try and find dess. carol knows what is in the bunker, but she still is in search of her daughter dess who is missing, she definetively knows about the dark worlds given the black shard asgore has, but i don't think she would want to hurt anyone in the town. if she were to make these many fountains to create the roaring she would doom everyone, including herself. which is something completely unreasonable for a mayor or something as caring as her to do, but she also can't straight up show her motives cause it's just straight up ridiculous, however i believe they are working to achieve a good goal.

-the prophecy. in the ch 4 darkworld, many things about the prophecy are stated and how things are suposed to go. some aspects of the prophecy are certainly correct, but there are some clear mistakes here. susie is suposed to be the last girl, even tho she is the second hero? how is that possible? did susie do something to make herself the second hero? well my theory is that the prophecy right now is "technically" correct, but also not. another aspect i'd like to point out is that kris or "the first hero" is called a "cage of human parts" which is just a really heavy definition for the vessel that we create at the start of deltarune, but also its so mean for kris :( kris definetively is not a cage and has a "will" of their own. which is why i think the prophecy is wrong, and some aspects of it may change as the story go on, susie seems to be a catalyst for change, and i feel like she is definetively one of the most important characters in deltarune.

-kris's soul. i like to believe that kris does have or had a soul before us, it is stated before the events of deltarune that kris liked to play around with their soul themselves like taking it out and chasing noelle with it claiming he is a "zombie" (lmao), or the reason he has a bird cage??? like why does he even have that? and it's rusty too so it has been there for a long time. kris knows about the nature of a soul, and how they need it for them to live. so my guess is that they had a soul before, but for some reason they ended up losing it or giving it away to someone else. who that might be i wouldn't know, but it's still something neat to think about: "why does kris know so much about the soul?"

oh my gosh i have SO much to say about chapters 3+4,,, 

fucking LOVED both chapters!!! when i finished chapter 3 i was like "oh... this couldn't get crazier,, right??? RIGHT???" LIKE,, WE HAD TO FIGHT KRIS' TV WHO STOLE THEIR MOM, THE KNIGHT APPEARED,,, AND LIKE,,, HOLY MOLY SO MUCH HAPPENED IN THERE... like surely,, right??? 

but BOY WAS I MISTAKEN. THEY HAD A FREAKING CHURCH EPISODE. WE HAVE A FREAKING CAROL JUMPSCARE, LETS GO LESBIAN MOMENTS... SO MANY LITTLE GAY MOMENTS...

i honestly loved both chapters, but i was in so much awe for like... the main 3's development-- especially susie's with both kris and ralsei. it really does feel like the 3 of them are best friends (aside from kris feeling weird with ralsei??? i know there have been some discussions on that...). seeing how well susie and ralsei get along so well, despite them being suuuper different just warms my heart ;<;, love those 2 so much; they've come SO far since chapters 1 & 2 and i'm just super happy for em. same with the friendship between susie and kris (if anyone is a krusie enjoyer im not judging :3, i just found them to be purely platonic personally especially as an aroace person). i also just found it sweet with how toriel was so welcoming to susie, not only with church, but she welcomed her wholly into the family-- like she even let her borrow asriels clothes. THEY'RE ALL SO SWEET I LOVE MY SILLIES SO MUCH. 

also holy moly that titan fight shook me to my CORE,,, also THE WHOLE GERSON LORE WENT SO HARD... LIKE HOLY SMOKES. the fact that he cameo'd in undertale TOO is SO CRAZY!!! 

(also enjoyed the interactions between kris and us/the player, we can see more how kris feels about us which is suuuper interesting but i also feel really bad for them... :C)

(also i love love LOVED the water cooler. best character. also loved the different "busters" that toby made for soundtracks,,, they sound SO COOL!!!)

favorite soundtracks include: paradise paradise, vapor buster, raise up your bat (there is a part of lost girl in there and i think that's SO NEAT), glowing snow, nothernlight, dark sanctuary, the distance between two, neverending night, dark place, the third sanctuary, and wise words. OBVIOUSLY THERE'S A LOT MORE BUT LIKE... here's (very much more than) a few!

also wanna do a quick rant on this: the soundtrack "it's raining somewhere else" from undertale, and the soundtrack "the place where it rains" from deltarune???? DUDE. THAT BLEW MY FREAKING MIND WHEN I HEARD THE SONG IN THERE OSJOIDJKSJ

ALSO DUUUDE THE PINK/YELLOW COLOR SYMBOLISM IS SUPER INTERESTING; like with spamton and them being the spare colors of undertale... OH AND ASGORE BECAUSE HIS PINK AND YELLOW COLOR PALLET TOO 

the next dark world being his garden would be super interesting because maybe that solidifies (not completely) the theory of deltarune being a PREQUEL to undertale.. yknow??? i still do find it odd because monster kid is supposed to be a kid but he looks a lot bigger in deltarune... but idk. maybe he changes in the dark world (deltarune)/under world (undertale). just feels off to me

as for the knight part, i might be on board with the dess train because like... i feel like carol being the knight would be too obvious??? idk it just felt odd to me that she'd show up relatively early along with the knight. i definitely do feel that she is involved somewhere though, along with kris. i wonder if carol is using dess as the knight to control her for something?? maybe?? atp i'm just spitballing though lmao. you're valid for staying neutral though, i dont blame you cause it could be anyone :P

(the rudy theory would certainly be interesting though, and yes i'd like to know more about him too!! he definitely seems like a chill guy and father; noelle seems to love him very much. i also do wonder about carol's current thoughts on him...) 

favorite characters for 3+4 include susie, kris, gerson, noelle, lancer, tenna, the ex-polycouple (they were SO FUNNY BUT I FELT SO BAD HELP), kris is my top top favorite though because they feel very relatable to me. oooh i also gotta draw what i think december looks like soon. i should post it here when i do :o 

but overall 1000/10 the amount of little secrets and easter eggs were AWESOME (thank you among us reference) along with the character development and the story. absolutely PROFOUND,,, like so many emotions were invoked and i would type more but i don't want this to be a whole dissertation LOL, and while i dont have any concrete theories, i do have a lot of thoughts so have fun!
