Problematic furry community

Forum: Furries of SpaceHey Group

Is it just me or being in The furry community if becoming a shameful thing.

Like, in the furry community 10 furry 2 are zoos, but if 10 furrys go viral 8 are them are zoos!

I think he best "famous" furry (of the good community) is telephone (my big inspiration, I started to become furry because of him when I was 9)

And seeing now that saying "I am furry" is a shameful thing (even going to end some relations). So I just quitted being a furry make 1/2 years. And every time I look at my fursuit I remember the smilling children because they find it fun. Here where I live it's not commun to have "mascots" on schools so it's not normal to see anthropomorphic, so for they it's something different and fun. But to people my age is something to laugh at.

The problem is about the zoo community being "normalized" and the "symbol" of the furry community.

I miss being a innocent furry, seeing telephone doing their squeaks used to make me so happy.

But now the memories are only from when I was happy being a furry, and the community wasn't that disgusting

was and is. furryfandom was always made fun of, but the shame's self-inflicted. get yourself a backbone and do what you enjoy, regardless of the bullies, and maybe you'll find something to believe in along the way.

To be honest I think it kinda comes with growing up in the fandom. Unfortunately the worst kinds of people try to hide themselves in the most accepting communities. A good fandom experience would be one that is small and curated for what you like online because lord knows the algorithms are trying to make it as impossible as ever to be happy.

Every community has a dark side, and the furry community is very large, meaning that its dark side (which is a minority) is made up of a large number of deranged individuals.

Look for places online that have good regulations and coordination, pleasant places, and build your social circle with good people. Don't stop yourself from doing something you enjoy because of bad people; they don't represent you.

I felt I was betrayed, when I was in the fandom without participation it was nice but boring. Now that I'm active and joined groups, it's fun until you find the controverssies and get to known who's next to you. I'm from Ecuador, and here the fandom is stil quite big, and the controversies are as equally big. Yet, if you have common sense, you can easly avoid getting into the controversies. The problem is the people who meet, there's a lot of people who weren't suppose to meet.
