Hi hi!! I am a chronic hair straightener and my hair isn’t curly so pls tell me if I am overstepping but I do genuinely think that hair products could get you the look you want.

I don’t use hairspray as I have problems with texture but I do use hair styling powder and hair styling clay~ both can be applied without straightening your hair and still achieve the look that you want.

Powder ~ easy appliance, keeps your hair texture, adds a LOT of volume, fluffy finish, weaker hold.

Clay ~ a bit more complicated, adds more weight to your hair which means does not add much volume, stronger hold than powder, for the most part keeps your hair texture, sharper and sleeker look; more traditional to “scene” hair.

For curly hair I would suggest powder over clay as clay could smooth out your curls to much in some places which could make your hair look uneven or greasy if too much is applied. Powdered hair is more malleable and easier to learn how to use. I’ve been doing scene hair for over a year now and I still use the same hair powder as I did when I started because it’s that good.

I always recommend powder for those who are just starting out and to try clay down the line.

TLDR: Invest in hair styling powder ~ no hair straightening needed, easy appliance, fluffy finish, adds volume, keeps your hair texture <3
