TW: Discussions on war

I’ve been struggling with depression for years now, but lately I’ve been doing better thanks to getting professional help. Now that I’m much more active, I’m using this as an opportunity to educate myself on current events which I’m extremely behind on.

I’d rather keep up with news by staying connected, updating each other, and having discussions, than by passively consuming information all by myself. Which is why I’ve created this forum to discuss news, politics, and current events. Our goal should be to deepen our understanding of each other and find common grounds, instead of pushing each other away.

You have free speech however, if you lack consideration in your wording your reply will be deleted.

Unbiased news sources I recommend: AllSides & Ground News

Do you guys agree with the two state solution? If there's a way for the outside forces to stop both Hamas and Israel from making attacks, this is the solution I agree with. Obviously both sides aren't gonna like it but...if neither side is going to back down there has to be compromises to make peace.

Tbh I don't know much and don't really care as I have lost hope in humankind and besides they're literally natural enemies cause of 1 place being holy to both.

I believe that as long as human greed exists they'll keep at it, forget the past and repeat like a cycle

Even if they stop waging wars they'll probably just try to destroy others' economy and be hostile to each other

Why would they offer their help bro

No country would establish peace between 2 countries when the countries themselves don't want peace(I mean Israel and Palestine)

The USA is isreals biggest supporter and funder up to this point, if they wanted israel to stop attacking they would've done it ages ago, but it's clear that most states agree they want to get rid of Palestine, so I don't think a two state solution is the right one, as it doesn't give Palestine and it's citizens what they actually deserve

The amount of laws isreal has broken is just too much for their to be a solution that'll be "fair" to both

Really? Most US states wants to get rid of Palestine? I'd appreciate if you can send any source on this.

If you see survival as winning then maybe

I don't think it can ever win if there's no aid, because it's literally going up against a country supported by the US, basically an impossible task

Update on my thoughts on Gaza war. On how to end it.

America is the one funding Israel. If America says "no more funding to you guys" then Israel won't be able to continue with their attacks.

When it comes to finding solution to stop the war, our focus should be on America and Trump. Not the Middle East. If we can get Trump to say "no more" to Israel then the war would stop.

It's important to vote for US president who clearly states they will stop funding Israel. But next election is in 2028 so...

Any thoughts? For example types of boycotts that would make Trump stop the funding?

I am Japanese and I live in Japan, but I also have US citizenship so I get to vote in the US elections from overseas. Just fun fact about me.

I think you're right, but I also think the focus should be on both. The USA needs to stop funding isreal, but oil-rich countries in the Arabian gulf should also create some sort of pressure on the US to force him to stop funding, just like what happened before sometime around 1973, when isreal was trying to take over Sainai in Egypt and other countries around it (don't remember exactly which ones)

As for boycotting I already do, anything that is an American or European product i don't buy, and try to like for a local replacement instead. Does it actually do anything? Well, it did, until people just kinda stopped? But even if it doesn't, it's literally the least I could do, so I'll do it

True, saying we should only focus on the US was a bit of a stretch. The world is all connected after all.
