1 year of ED and i rlly want to ask abt some help

I frequently engage in binge eating. My main issue is that I primarily seek the sensation of having something in my mouth. Chewing gum provides some relief, but it contains calories as well, and I find it difficult to limit myself to just 3-5 pieces; I usually end up consuming an entire pack of 50. Additionally, it’s not the healthiest option.

My key inquiry is:

How can I curb my cravings for flavors and tastes? I would appreciate specific suggestions rather than general advice, as I have already attempted many methods.

im so sorry ur struggling, and i hope i can at least suggest something useful :3

i personally flip flop between binge eating for months and then the opposite for months at a time and here are a few things that worked for me binge eating wise:

> trying new flavors and drink flavors, i very much love comfort flavors so trying new things when im hungry instead of eating what i already know i like sometimes keeps me from overeating

> counting calories (reallllly helped me put into perspective how bad it was) and setting a specific limit. veryyyyy important to remember its okay to have off days as well and not beat urself up too bad <3

> choosing to eat something small for breakfast an then basically trapping myself (at work, school, etc.) somewhere that i literally cannot binge eat until a certain time. i usually go with 300 or under based breakfast and then eating kinda as much as i want when i get home :3

> cooking 4 myself, i work nights so when i finally get home and am around food again that's my only option which really makes me not want to do unnecessary dishes lmao (esp after work)

> delete any and all food related apps from your life, the more food videos i see the hungrier i get and having doordash at my fingertips was nottttt helpful

> if ur like me, cutting w33d and other things that makes u hungry for like a week or a few days at a time might help with cravings

I hope this helps u or anyone in need :3 its also important to remember nothing can just "fix" it, i will likely always have bad days that i cant help it but the fact that i truly try when i can is what matters :3

also my dms are always open if u or anyone needs to talk <3
