Please enjoy your craft and the process and be proud of your efforts do the things that bring you joy and then have a focus on working on specifics animation is very time consuming in its own ways

there's plenty of online recourses on Animation fundamentals especially on youtube thatll direct you to more specific things

but compiling all this information can get overwhelming and as a beginner definitely start out by drawing short gifs of parts of your drawing like a moving background etc whatever you enjoy and copying movements that you think are fun

but the main thing i know about animation is to understand motion so always have video references

it doesn't have to be complex but understand shapes and forms the best thing is too make sure every figure and motion is readable even if its stylistic

Dont try to learn everything all at once and dont strive for a perfect product it takes years of studying and practice so focus on just the things youre determined to want to get better at in the moment you can always go back and improve things whenever as well just keep striving to learn and do the things you like because the main thing is that youre working on it

always start with a plan - do the main frames first, then do the frames in-between them, then, if you want to, do smear frames.

I'd also remember frame by frame does not necessarily mean each frame has to be a new frame, most animators animate in a mix of 2s and 3s (same image every 2 frames)

I would start small, by doing gifs of simple movements; and definitely do references. Remember we have smear frames and squash and stretch for the IDEA of movement without actually moving everything; and you dont have to do an original frame either with the movement; you can also do the arm you just want moving the movement and keep the static the same for less work, and it will look cleaner.

THE BIGGEST ADVICE  HOWEVER. Do it anyways. just do it! its how you will improve, have fun with it you wont be perfect so why strive for it!
