Who is giving the premonitions?

Something I recently though about is where these premonitions are coming from. Why they chose the characters and why they always die last out of their group.

I've searched through other forums and pages and found some interesting theories that I'll share here as well as my own and what I believe.

1. Psychic

One theory is that the characters that have the premonitions have psychic abilities that they are born with and can see clearly into the future, much like how all of us have that Deja Vu feeling every now and then. However, the visionaries ability to "see the future" are heavily enhanced. No strange, mysterious reason, just by chance.

2. Deaths warning

This theory claims that death gave them the vision as a warning. They deemed that the visionary isn't supposed to die here and gives them a glimpse into the future to warn them so they can escape. Additionally, this theory claims that the reason the visionary ends up dying is because they saved the others around him. Death only deemed the visionary to survive, not everyone else, and like what Mr. Bludworth said in Final Destination Bloodlines, "You fuck with death, things get messy"

Personally, I think that although it is creative and interesting the think about, I doubt that death has favorites. Death wouldn't discriminate or deem someone worthy of surviving. It's just not in its nature. As well, if death deemed someone worthy of surviving, why would it choose to create a disaster while the "worthy" one is there?

The theory, which I believe, is that there is an opposite entity to Death, which is Life. The "Life" entity works to undo deaths plans by giving a visionary premonitions into the future so that they may stop it. Although it isn't a permanent solution, since death comes for the ones who survive, it does give them an opportunity to figure the puzzle behind deaths plans and work around it, like Kimberlly Corman did in Final Destination 2.

I also believe that death does give premonitions to visionaries. I believe the only example of this happening is Nicks premonition of the mall explosion in Final Destination 4 (over hated movie btw) Nick is the only one the survives the premonition, so maybe death showed him what was going to happen so he can save his girlfriend and his girlfriends friend, so death can take them all out at the Death By Caffeine cafe. Which is why Nick says "What if us being here, right now, was the plan from the beginning"

I hope in the next movie there will be a reference or a hint as to the reason these specific people get premonitions of disasters.
