How did Internet changed your life? (can be positive or negative) NO JUDGEMENT

i had access to internet at a young age too, but i had internet at home at 10 yo and the positive side is that i discovered a loooot of cool things like movies, music, books, people, etc. and still use internet constantly to discover more and more topics  or websites that i really like and no one irl know about (like spacehey hahaha)

but in the negative side i think that i wasted too much time here, precious time that could have been used in something more productive like learning to play an instrument or just being outside with people and be in contact with the reality. anyways i still love internet and i'm thankful about all the things i discovered here <3

uhhh without youtube I'll probably never be into animation the way I am now. Though I'll still be a creative.

oh yeah and I had unrestricted access since like 7 y.o. or something like that.

i too, was a member of the unrestricted internet access as a young child community nd holy fuck was it the worst thing ever when i lacked the common sense to stop going to every link someone sent me. i was exposed to so much shit i shouldnt have known about (big shoutout to this awesome 20yo girl who showed me yaoi shota manga when I was 11 /s)

but, with the help of the great invention known as the internet, i met a lot of cool people and they all served their purpose for the time of my life. boyfriends, girlfriends, friends, bestfriends, overall amazing and fun people half way across the fuckin world that i wouldve never had the chance to meet and interact with otherwise. 

i got to learn about other people's lives and experiences, and got advice when i couldnt talk to my family about things (albeit the advice received often ranged from decent, bad, and absolutely terrible) from all sorts of people on stupid apps like Whisper when that bs was popular 

i learned so many useful skills that i still enjoy today like picture editing & video editing from when i ran a ig fanpage in like 2017. i also discovered gacha mini movies during quarantine which are somehow to this day, still peak entertainment to me

the good things outweighed the bad in the end. i wouldnt say it changed my life for the better, but it definitely made things and life itself more interesting for me as someone back then who was homeschooled and had almost 0 interaction with people outside of my family

i think its had a mostly positive effect on me, ive been able to indulge in my niche interests free of judgement, i've formed extremely close relationships with people that i would've never been able to meet otherwise, and i learned english by myself

but unrestricted internet access does have its downside, i saw a lot of weird and fucked up stuff i was not prepared to see, and i matured a bit too quickly (ᵕ—ᴗ—)

Back then i came online to escape from irl bullying in school. It connected me to similar - to - me people.

Ever since 2020 or so, the internet has those bullies. In fandoms. 

I got access to it aroind 8 years old mostly pirated gmod servers later on non pirated gmod there I learnt racism but I mostly stayed within my irl friend group no big discord server nothing the most i did was try yputube at like 10 with my broken north europian accent
