Why does youtube feel so boring now? (Question)

Hello everyone. First time posting here. I'm not sure if this fits the topic of this forum but fuck it.

Everything on YouTube feels so stale now.

From reviews to lets plays, it all feels the same despite it all being different video topics and demographics.

And it seems like when a new unique style of video pops up on the site, it always gets used to death and then just becomes apart of the never ending cycle of ""content"".

I really want to quit but every time i try, it seeks back up on me and i just go back to watching things that just make me feel like shit.

But at the same time it's how I learn how to do most things.

I kinda want to ask two questions.

What's your opinion on modern YouTube as a whole?

and

Is there a way that you can have a healthy relationship with YouTube?

Everyone is just chasing fame, image, money and all that garbage.

There used to be a strong sense of community and connection in the early days of YouTube. Nowadays, the landscape has been transformed into an algorithmic content farm.

To say this sucks would be a colossal understatement. I’m severely disappointed with YouTube’s current corporate landscape designed to please advertisers and marketers. Speaking of ads, they are so absurd. I just want to watch the video, dang it. Some of these ads are even scams, so what the heck?! They could harm one’s devices! This makes an ad blocker extremely important. But YouTube? Oh, they don’t care.

YouTube Premium be like: “Want no ads? Give us money please.”

What a joke. This doesn’t solve the scam problem. It doesn’t help their moderation is just garbage. A literal dox sniper got a slap on the wrist. She should’ve been banned! I’m talking SSSniperwolf. Ridiculous.

Sorry. This issue really infuriates me as an OG YouTube viewer. I really wish YouTube remained a safe space for community and connection, where we could Broadcast Ourselves. This is likely why there was a magic in the old days. Now, content is soulless, driven by money, the algorithm, and attention.

youtube stripped many of it's social features. also, everybody is chasing the dream of making money on youtube instead of doing it for the love of the game

Something else ive noticed is that the archival function of Youtube is pretty much gone. If you search something then you get like 10 actual results that relate to your search and the rest is just videos you have allready seen and 20 of the same recomendations that youtube keeps pushing in your face. None of the older stuff will come up and it is very hard to find unless you know exactly what you are looking for. So not only are creators and youtube just pushing the modern brainrot into your feed, they are also withholding the older original, weird kinda cringe videos that u used to watch. (not sure if this is how the algorythym actually works these days but it kind of feels like it)

I feel you! YouTube's algorithm does push repetitive "content" over authentic creativity these days. What helped me was being more intentional - I only watch specific tutorials/channels, then close the app.

Pro tip: when you baixar aplicativo Snaptube, you can download just the useful videos (like those DIY tutorials you mentioned) in 1080p HD or MP3 audio format. This free app acts as a social media aggregator too, so you're not stuck in YouTube's endless loop.

I use baixar aplicativo Snaptube to save educational content, then watch offline without getting sucked into recommended videos. It's been a game-changer for my digital wellbeing!

Modern YouTube? Overly commercialized but still useful if you control it - don't let it control you. Curate your experience!
