Weird Al- not only is he one of 3 main reasons I focus on lyrics when listening to music (other reasons being TMBG and REM), but from going from listening to only TMBG to having a shit ton of CDs, 99% of the bands I picked up and thought, "oh, I'll check them out" are because of Weird Al parodying or referencing them (REM, Oingo Boingo, Nirvana, Police, Doors, Weezer, Ke$ha, Aerosmith, Peter Gabriel, Beck, The B-52s, DEVO, DiVinyls, Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nine Inch Nails, Green Day... the list goes ON.). God bless the man, I know he does.
