Might be slightly controversial but i think it was pretty mid. Maybe I am slightly salty because of how he was fucking edging us for like 2 or so years and I stayed up till 4am the day he dropped mad asl, but js hear me out. As someone who has been listening to carti for years now along with his unreleased shit, this album was just so far out of his original sound that it feels like he got lost in the making of the album, yk? Like yes he created vamp and pioneered opium but like it almost felt like he was just trying so hard to sound like ken/lone and the modern opium sound instead of himself. It's been a good 2 months since it dropped and I've only really repeatedly revisited ONE song on the ENTIRE 30 TRACK ALBUM, which is Olympian. Olympian feels like carti, but the rest either he spammed that fuckin soundboard or are just mid asl. I mean Olympian isn't the only track I like, Rather Lie is great obviously, South Atlanta Baby, Crush, HBA.... yerrr idk
Omfg i fucking loveeeee Different Day tho. I remember the day that shit came out in, what, december 2023??? I had that shit on repeatttt and I almost threw my phone into a river when I saw that it wasn't on the album in the first released but I got my sanity back when the deluxe came out.
