The dullness of minimalism and it's impact

I know this is a topic that's been talked about a lot, but it's still something very interesting to me. I was just a kid when I saw Frutiger Aero and Frutiger Metro fade away, and minimalism slowly creep in. I actually didn't like Frutiger Aero or Metro at first — it felt tacky, like they just pasted random images together and called it a day. But when I look at minimalism, it feels like there's nothing there — no emotion, no presence.

But I ask myself: will I feel the same way about minimalism in ten years, when a new style comes in and replaces it? I just want to hear your thoughts.

i just think minimalism sucks the life out of everything, and memorys, say you go into someones house and they have 2 kids theres normally no colourful toys, no drawings on the walls, nothing that makes that minimalist house look like its lived in, it looks like a show room, itt looks cold, It like if you left a bright red plastic chair out in the sun and the colours faded, i get its nice to look at things that are all neat, but thats not life, life is memory's, mess , and its everywhere, websites, apps, UI, even lamp posts, cloths, food packaging, i do not like minimalism at ALL!! Maximalist 4 life!!

i'm also very interested in this topic also and i think minimalism really ruined our creativity, way to consume media and sense of style... i hate not seing colorful things anymore, hate modern designs and the emptyness in the modern life. I miss sooooo bad when life felt full of color, when internet and technology was like experiencing the future, when people really lived the moment and wasn't focused on their phones all the time, and don't get me wrong I use social media and consume media like ig reels or tik tok but i'm getting really sick of it and want a change.

personally i think we will never go back to old aesthetics but "us" the people that are tired of this emptyness will make the diference and create new aesthetics, new fashion, cool and fresh aesthetics like we used to do in the past.

Minimalism is what i believe corporations assume we want, because it looks sleek and modern. They fail to see it seems not only soulless, but lacks what many of us desire, which is the comfort of nostalgia and the yearning for a better time.

Minimalism just sucks the life out of everything. It makes me feel like I'm constantly living in a hotel rather than a home. It makes me feel like I'm walking through a corporate office rather than downtown in a random city. And don't even get me started on how colorless everything must be for some reason. It's scientifically proven that color evokes positive feelings and puts humans in a good mood overall. I truly believe the rise of minimalism is partly to blame for how emotionally and mentally miserable many humans are today.

I'm very into fashion and to witness how dull all the popular fashion brands have gotten is honestly so sad. Victoria's Secret and PINK are great examples of this. If you look at each brand, especially PINK, and how they operated in the 2000s, it's starkly different to how they are today. They used to be vibrant, bold, and overall FUN!! With funny and flirty slogans on their clothes and crazy patterns!! Now everything is one color in the same design and style but in different fonts for different "collections". It's honestly depressing to think about!

Minimalism is a fucking cancer on our society, metastasizing to whatever it can get its dirty little hands on. Words simply cannot describe my sheer and utter absolute HATRED of it.
