Question(s) to all active users!

>How did you hear about Spacehey?

saw a link to it on someone's neocities page ages ago and

joined like two months ago

been v happy here ever since :DD

It was recommended on the Yesterweb site, which isn't a thing anymore, but SpaceHey remains. It's kind of a sideshow for me, but who cares. People hang around and sometimes post cool stuff. An is working on it, too, just slowly because college. But that just makes it a different place from all others.

1) How active is the user base here?

Ans: For me since joining 8 months ago, I'd say not very tbh.

2) How did you hear about Spacehey?

Ans: Threads actually. Someone posted that the site had crossed about 1 million users and their post got so much attention, that it landed in my Feed. I signed up here two days later after that, mostly out of curiosity. But since then, I've been left feeling pretty confused cuz...like...where's the 1 million user base? I would think that it would be pretty active with that many people joining, but it's not o.o

3) Have any of you made friends?

Ans: Define "made friends", cuz for me people I don't know just add me tbh. 97% of the time I don't even know why. I assume its cuz they saw me reply to a Forum Post and they either liked my Artwork or they checked out my profile and liked it o.o Some people add me cuz they want to "build a follow 4 follow" list (like how people did on Instagram). I'm not into that. I usually have to vet you before I add you to my social circle, cuz I'm very picky with who has access to me.

4) Is this site still receiving updates?

Ans: I assume so, based on An's Blog Posts, but tbh, I don't really see much of a difference really. Could be I'm not here often to notice the changes ^.^"

5) Why hasn't this site been more promoted/marketed?

Ans: I assume it's cuz An is a University student, ie he doesn't have "zuckerberg/ bezos money" to hire a marketing and ad team yet. Yes sure there are people who pay for donations, but not everybody in the 1 million user base is donating and not everybody is active at the same time either. But I suppose you could message him and ask personally, since users are auto added to his account once they register to the site.

6) How is this site holding to your expectations? (comparison to My Space.)

Ans: Honestly I can't relate, even though I did have a Myspace account back in 2011. The thing is I only signed up for MS at the time cuz my boyfriend at the time (ex of many yrs now), was on it and I only used it twice. I left cuz I didn't understand how to code to make a decorated profile with music etc.

7) How often are you using this site? 

Ans: Not often. Maybe a couple times for the month in a blue moon, just to see if anybody left any messages or notes at me etc.

8) And how does this compare to all other socials?

Ans: Honestly after 2020, I stopped using alot of social media like I used to do before. I'm now mostly on Threads. I only go on Deviantart to archive my Art etc and I mostly use Youtube to watch vids - once in a while making commentary. Other than that, I deleted my Twitter (despite the fact that I barely used it anyway) and I don't use Facebook anymore. Not going back there until I have my new Arts finished. I'm pretty reclusive - either doing chores around the house or drawing or watching a movie etc.
