I am a total car novice.
Once I finally have my Provisional License I'll be shopping around for a car, but I have no idea where to start? I would love some beginners knowledge on different brands and types of cars, what they're good for, ect. Any pointers would be helpful :]

japanese = reliable and easy to work on
german = over engineered but can be really good
american = FREEDOM
if you want a reliable car thats easy to fix and so on get a honda or toyota. They can be fun to.
