Half the time philosophy discussions just recycle and regurgitate the same old bs; Nietzsche this, Kant that, Stoicism for the five billionth time. But what about the weird, overlooked stuff? Here’s a few that deserve more attention (and yes, antinatalism is on the list - because of course it is).
1. Pyrrhonian Skepticism - "I don’t know, and neither do you, so relax." (overoversimplified)
2. Process Philosophy - Reality’s not a bunch of static object's, everything is dynamic.
3. Eliminative Materialism - folk psychology is stupid, it'll all be replaced with neuroscience.
4. Phenomenalism - objects are nothing more than collections of perceptions or the permanent possibility of being perceived
5. Wang Yangming’s Neo-Confucianism - If you really knew right from wrong, you’d already be doing it. true understanding requires ethical practice.
6. Mereological Nihilism - Nothing’s actually a "thing," we just pretend for convenience, only simple, indivisible particles do.
7. Fictionalism - The idea that certain domains (like numbers or moral facts) are useful fictions rather than literal truths.
8. Antinatalism - Having kids is a inherently immoral.
Any other gems I missed? Are we doomed to keep regurgitating the same five white guys forever? Let me know.
Biased side note: Antinatalism should be more talked and thought about.
UPDATE and P.S: Calling any of these stupid like one user did and especially with their reasoning on why it is, is being narrow minded.
