Just deleted all short form media apps.

I genuinely am addicted and it's sad/scary. I feel anxious without my phone on me, and every day I was waking up and scrolling for hours and hours... Now that is gone so I'm just like perpetually bored?? Which actually is a good thing, maybe. I feel like I have this itch I can't scratch with anything else but it's forcing me to do other things, which is good.

Is anyone else feeling the same or going through the same thing??

I deleted Twitter the moment the sale happened. I'd been wanting off anyways, and it was a good excuse.

I got Bluesky last year and genuinely love it but I have to be careful about it. Trying to be more active here I guess?

I deleted tiktok for a while because I was on it too much.

I do find support through it with people talking about autism and trauma and whatnot. It's easy to spend too much time on there though.

I have it again right now because I'm downloading old videos of mine to repost on other platforms. I might delete it again after a while. I'm trying to grow as a Twitch streamer though and Twitch itself has very poor discoverability so social media really helps.

I recently talked about this addiction with my therapist. my phone has ruined my ability to focus and increased my anxiety levels (which weren't low, I've always been anxious and this has made it worse).

we're working on it together, and I fail every now and then. It's not easy. I feel like a 22 yo ipad kid.

I'm currently struggling to get away from Instagram specifically, because it's how I remain in contact with most people I know irl. I really really hate using it, but there's not really much else I can do without feeling incredibly disconnected. Feeling for you.
