What is your favorite Linux distro and why? I want to see something. I want to move onto Linux, I have tried Linux Mint on VMware and I loved it. Probably will try Arch after Mint, because why not?

I tried Mint on a VM as well, and I installed it on an old laptop, which was fun and it also ran much better than the Windows 7 Starter that was on it previously. It's very clean and beginner friendly. Going from Mint to Arch is a pretty big jump lmao, but good luck. Definitely try it in a VM first though, which I'm sure was already the plan. I tried Fedora and base Ubuntu as well. I didn't really like them. They kind of felt like an outdated Android tablet.

These days I mainly use BunsenLabs Linux, but anything based on Debian is fine. Stability is so important.

I've tried a lot of different distros but my favorite is still Mint. I prefer MATE over Cinnamon though. It seems to be less buggy in my personal experience.

I've tried a bunch of distros, fedora, ubuntu, mint, endeavourOS, manjaro, kali, and more that i've honestly just forgotten the name of. My personal choice is arch. Never ran into any of the instability problems (probably because i don't update every single day), and i never really ran into problems with software compatibility.
This may just be because i got lucky, but every time i had an issue i just read the manual and figured out how to fix it, and honestly it's a fun experience, I learned a lot just from using it, and thus I just prefer arch over other distros.
here's my setup :D

Using devuan at the moment but I'm planning to switch to void linux. Devuan is using 1.7gb of ram idling, that's way too much!!

Arch is my personal doc due to the ease of use, I think I just know it so well atp and when I have to use debian I get frustrated that it doesn't work like arch lmao.
I also like Alpine, Void, and Slackware, but Arch is just easier to use at least for me then the other ones.
I just really like pacman so much that I just dont like using other package managers, the wiki is also just next-level great documentation, but it can also apply to other distros from time to time.
Endeavor is a great Arch-based distro that makes the install a little easier, but archinstall is just really simple and seems to be working great these days. Hell, Id recommend arch to newbies if theyre serious about learning Linux just because it is minimal enough to require just a little bit of user intervention for certain things.
