I've worked in two separate amazon warehouses, and both times I quit within the first few months.
At job one, I was a picker, multicart picker, and waterspider for about 10 hours a night, from 6pm to 5am. Management at that facility was alright, they were all very nice and chill as hell. The work, however, was so hellish and painful that I was hobbling in my front door and barely making it into bed before passing out. I brought up multiple times that some of my tasks were too hard for me physically, and that I was having a hard time walking or standing for a long time, but was never trained on any other paths :). It paid well, but I can't put into words the physical and mental torment of working in a building like that, especially as a college kid. Just.. 10 straight hours of disassociating and bleeding through socks.
Job two was worse, in my opinion. I was there around peak season but quit before Christmas. I only ever worked in packing and sorting, but they did tell me they were probably gonna move me to pick (which i specifically asked them not to do, on account of the last time I'd had the misfortune of stepping inside an amazon facility). Management treated me like I was stupid, would stare directly at my gigantic pronoun pin and continue to misgender me, yell at me for taking bathroom breaks, and generally talked down to me whenever I needed to speak to them. The HR department was fine, I guess. Not a single person in that building ever bothered to use my correct pronouns lol. I worked 12 hours shifts that time around, and for more pay than before, but I was having regular panic attacks and crying fits while on my breaks and in the bathroom.
TLDR: Amazon pays well but will make you work until you turn to dust and then badger you about your time-off-task. Don't let Jeffery suck your soul out for $19 and hour.
