is English major worth it

English would be good for either journalism or law--it's a very versatile major that teaches you how to read and think and write, which is important.

Is the degree worth it? Only if you can feasibly pay it off very quickly. Otherwise, you would be getting into a cutthroat industry that cares very little about actually reporting real and relevant information with any degree of truth and integrity. My advice? Get into guerilla journalism and find your calling, what needs to be reported that isn't being reported? What is important to you, and to the people? How can you gather intel that others can't? How can you distribute this info to the people?
