Favorite video game analysis(essay?) type of videos?

Not very fair to be talking about my own works, but I am happy with my blogs and how I am able to get my thoughts out in a freeing matter that might also mean something to others sometimes. It allows me to have a place where I can share my stories without having to take a conversation away. Before, it was either talk people's ear off and forget or just forget, but I feel like I'm writing my own history with my experiences and having a place I can refer to that people can read as they wish.

Oh yah, other works. Noclip's 4 part documentary on Dwarf Fortress has been a great watch. Might even be a game you try out sometime.

My all time favorite has to be hbomberguy's Pathologic HD video!!! I watch it at least once a year, and it's definitely my comfort video at this point(Which is a little funny considering the the game it talks about).

my favorite channel on youtube at the moment might be Running Shine. the way he structures his videos where he just kind of goes through the game linearly combined with his more casual narration style gives the impression of a cool older sibling showing you a game, i really like it and i try to write and talk about games (or other things, like anime) in a similar way. it also helps that he's into  game design himself and gives input on the more technical aspects of a game, like UI design and the like.

i like all of his videos, but if i had to choose one to start with, i'd suggest his review on YiiK, if only because it's his most popular video.

This one video about GTA 3. It captures every oddity and quirk of this particular game in the series, dives deep in it's sinister ghoulish atmosphere and even shared my thought about it being similar to Silent Hill 2. Also considering the game being straight up overlooked in comparison with VC and SA, if not forgotten, the essay becomes more special. 

@Crazy Cattle 3D I agree about Action Button, his stuff is on another level. It’s like watching a movie about a video game that somehow ends up being about life, design, memory, and whatever else he decides to ramble about. I liked his Tokimeki Memorial video, it was oddly moving and way more profound than I expected going in.
