90's Tech Stuff (For a fic)

So basically, I started a Divine Machinery inspired Harry Potter fic (The Divinity of Machinery on AO3) and after writing the first chapter and a little research I remembered that I know nothing about machines or computers. I don't know anything about modern tech and as someone born in the early 2000's I know even less about 90's tech.  

If anyone has any resources or helpful info, especially about the early 90's (I can at least ask my parents about the late 90's lol), it would really help me out.

Also if anyone knows any 90's mechanical engineering text books or technical books it would really help as I reference them in the fic.

I also really need to know what kind of tech was widely available at the time. I hadn't even realized that most libraries didn't have computers until 1992 until I happened to double check.

I want my fic to be as accurate as it can be so anything and everything is helpful <3
