i was wandering who here is interested in world building, i have two worlds and one that im planning to make into a book someday

the world itself is a future of an alternate universe where humanity became a space faring civilization and post scarcity and accidentally started a conflict with some not really firendly alien civilizations i would go more but then i would need to start rambling about some insane things like monkey gods and data systems

so anyway do you build a world and if yes please tell me what is your world

(also sorry for my english being insanly broken it is not my first language)

i love world building so much! its somewhat a flaw since i get more excited about the world than the story haha. a fun one i came up with recently but cant figure out what to do with would be coreadess! I'm just gonna paste my notes in here:

Coreadess:
A world that is the body of a dead god

World can
be entered using many means, but main character gets here by magical lake on
human side

There are
humans there ofc, but they're a minority. Only few humans have such a high
cpacity for magic without burning themselves up.

The god
in question is the patron goddess of the place, the goddess of imagination. Her
body is only visible in a few places, and otherwise it looks like a massive
island in the sky. She is reaching posed with one foot atop the other, and her
arm outstretched, like she's trying to catch a star. The only things that are
very visible are her hands, one arm that is kinda doing the ballerina thing,
the tips of her legs, and her face. There are many
floating islands around the main one, and the main one is referred to as
Heamage. The islands float due to great runic spells that are placed within the
island by runecasters. Very expensive work.

Heamage
is like the capital city, super overpriced homes and apartments and everything
happens there. There are many large (none larger than Heamage tho ofc) islands
that are near Heamage, and some that can only get to Heamage by passing a
handful of other islands first.

The
school that the protagonists go to, Neafai, is located near the top (around the
goddess' neck; not that they know that), on it's own island. It's a small
island away from Heamage, so on weekends they'll sometimes let the kids go to
the big city. The school has one smaller island above it, where water flows
down from (that’s where a temple to the Goddess of Imagination is as well as
the principal's office), the water flows down into a lake, around which the
cafeteria is located. The school itself is many different buildings for various
subject groups that are positioned in a sort of circular manner around the
cafeteria lake. There are four bridges that lead to mini islands outside of
this larger circle. The one to the north leads to the gymnasium, pool, and
other activity centres like fencing rooms and stables. The one to the south
leads to the great gate, that allows people into and out of the campus, if they
leave, there's another bridge that takes them to closest island, a small town
called Faite where there's those bustling marketstreets and everyone knows
everyone. To the west are the student dormitories and the great library, and to
the east are teacher rooms as well as facilities like groceries, small food
stalls.

Anyways, I love the idea of floating island worlds, and though i do have a vague idea of 'ooo protagonists go to magic school like in mallory towers' theres no real plot or anything i just wanted to think about a cool dead god that was like. an island. thats it > <
