I'm New To Homestuck! How Do I Get Into It?

Let me reply to you so you don't got four days without necessary and urgent advice.

How to get into Homestuck:

-Read Act 1, taking up maybe an hour or two of a nice afternoon

-Think to yourself, "Hey! That wasn't bad!"

-Read Act 2 during your free time over the next 3-5 days

-Repeat for Act 3

-Read Act 4, and as you realize that this is gonna take a while, look at some memes n such of Homestuck, learning about the trolls because you like them and you don't wanna have to wait on the comic to get there

-After a month, finally get to Act 5 (or "Act 5 Act 1", which is stupid, you can't divide an act into acts), and get excited when your favorite troll gets introduced while learning all the idiosyncrasies of Alternian society

-Get contacted in your sleep by extraterrestrials (who may or may not be trolls (or maybe it's just a side effect of that Theraflu tea you drank before bed))

-Crawl through the second half of Act 5, reading it occasionally now because you're more intersted in fandom content, especially since watching seinfeldspitstain's CG animation adaptations of Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff

-Go on an indefinite hiatus from reading since the website is being buggy

The Unofficial Homestuck Collection is the best way to experience it as it was in it's hayday!

If you ever get SUPER bored or finish homestuck or even want to understand the characters better

I highly recommend watching analysis of the characters or the comic itself . Not only are they super interesting but tells you heaps about what you need to know and adds more insight.

there are diffrent analyses on all the trolls and kids on yt these videos helped me get into the comic more and understand each character in a way I would’ve never thought. 

honestly, the best way to get in to homestuck is to just start reading it. like, seriously. type homestuck.com/story/1 into your browser and then start reading it.

the worst thing about getting into homestuck is that it infodumps an INSANE amount of stuff onto you in the first acts. don't worry, 50% of the things that are introduced in the first acts literally aren't important to remember at all, and the other 50% that you need to remember basically get re-explained anyway.

i'd say if you like act 1, you're gonna love the rest of the comic. but if you hated act 1 and thought it was a chore to get through, just put the comic down, because the rest of the comic will also feel like a chore(in the sense that, homestuck is like 70% text soap opera with 30% awesome flashy stuff periodically placed).
