Punk scenes can be anything tbh, any scene that goes against the "norm" for the area. (esp largely conservative areas)
My local "punk" scene involves me and a bunch of other left-leaning people in the area (mostly cis women, but some enby folk too) getting together and crocheting at a local bar/restaurant. We have a drink and share a pizza, crochet or knit whatever project we are working on, and we spend a few hours talking about whatever is going on in our lives. Usually it involves gay stuff, swearing, joking about "adult" topics, and ranting about current political issues. If you've ever been to a sit and stitch, it's usually a bunch of conservative grandmas who will look at you funny if you mention a pride parade or say you aren't Christian. So to me, this is punk.
A lot of the time, you have to make it yourself. BUT even in largely "red" areas, there's always people hiding in the cracks who feel alone because they don't have other left-leaning friends. So creating your own punk scene, whether it be crafting at a local bar, starting a group chat for meeting up at local events, or meeting for coffee once a week, is honestly punk in itself. You create that community that others in your area would frown upon because you rock the boat just by existing where they can see you. It's tough at first, but eventually can be really empowering and really helps you not feel so lonely.
