my name is Desi and i'm an alcoholic and an addict, a codependent, and an anxious-avoidant

i currently go to meetings in AA, SLAA, and CoDA, but i probably qualify for more programs. that being said, i'm open-minded to different modalities and processes. i've also attended meetings in NA, Dharma Recovery, TST Sober Faction, CoRS Rational Satanic Recovery, Pagans In Recovery, Recovery Refuge and SMART

backstory about me:
first got sober in 2018 - relapsed in 2019
got sober that christmas and relapsed a few months later
my current sobriety date from alcohol and drugs is July 29th, 2020
i helped build and support Sober Faction from the ground up but have since walked away
i identify as a spiritual, atheistic Satanist and am not a member of any organized religion
i entered SLAA in July of 2024 but left a few months later, rejoining March 3rd, 2025
i joined CoDA on March 15th, and the same day i went non-contact with my current qualifier
i struggle with my bottom line behaviors in the latter two programs

grew up in Pennsylvania, got sober in Ohio, moved to San Francisco

i sponsor and am sponsored. i go to about 8 meetings a week, usually more. i have a nuanced understanding of the 12 Steps and my own conception of a Power Greater Than Myself

i'm also writing a book of daily reflections and affirmations for others like me

i'm grateful to be sober. i'm powerless over all of my addictions and other people. and i'm happy to be here
