JOTT (Just One of Those Things)

Have you ever lost something in the most mysterious way? You know exactly where you placed it, but when you go to get it, it’s simply gone. No one else was around, there’s no logical explanation, and yet it just vanished. Then, just as mysteriously as it disappeared, it reappears in a place you already checked a dozen times. Or, even stranger, it shows up somewhere completely unexpected. 

I had my own JOTT moment at work. I always keep my phone on my desk, right next to my keyboard where I can see it at all times. It’s within arm’s reach and my workspace is always tidy: just a glass of water and a coffee cup, nothing that could hide it. One moment, I reached for my phone as usual and it was simply gone. I searched the entire desk, checked my pockets, the drawer, even the floor — nothing. It had vanished without a trace.
Thinking maybe a colleague was playing a prank, I looked over at the desk across from me. But no one was there. Then, after just a few seconds of looking away, I turned back to my desk and there was my phone, lying exactly where it had always been. I had just reached for it at this exact same spot and found nothing but empty space, yet now it was back as if it had never disappeared.

It was weird, to say the least. I can’t explain it...
