General Alternatives For Common Websites

I really like the idea of using BitView instead of YouTube because of its old layout. I think it's better for us if content is curated to our likings by an algorithm because it means less slop!! Less tracking !!! More freedom to discover!!!!

But BitView is so engrossed in nostalgia slop rn. Why is everybody so obsessed with it? The website has insane potential to be an alternative for sharing/making content, but everybody is too busy trying to remake 2009 roblox/minecraft args. Like, yeah guys, you did a really good job remaking something, but can you try making something new? Anyways, unless that nostalgia slop goes away, I think BitView is off the table. Any other suggestions for watching videos other than YouTube or nostalgia websites?

And side note, I know people like bluesky as an alternative to twitter, but I tried using it and it seemed like literally everybody was too dedicated to talking about how much better bluesky is compared to twitter. I feel like everybody on alternative websites can't help but make every interaction about how it's not the main website. Rant over.
