Designing a Persona/SelfSona?

Lately I've been feeling like redesigning my persona and I'm having like, the hardest time getting started?

I've got a moodboard with cool pictures and stuff to work with, but actually applying the Cool Stuff to a character that feels like me is... Harder than I expected it to be? Like when I first designed my current persona it was pretty straightforward: make her look like me but a little bit cooler. So that's what I did. She looks mostly like me but is also a vampire (because I think vampires are super cool).

Essentially what I think I'm struggling with is making the character a metaphorical reflection of myself rather than a literal one.

How did you design your persona (if you have one)? Do you have any suggestions or advice? Any guides or tutorials you find especially helpful? All advice and input is very appreciated, thanks in advance!!

When designing my sona, I just used the first thing I thought of and drew like 3 bases to see how I liked it. I ultimately decided on just going with the flow of my mind waves or whatever so my advice is lowkey...as cliche as it sounds, just wing it and be creative to you. BUUT COOL FEATURES LIKE CLAWS FOR HANDS OR SOMETHINGS ARE DOPE AND USE THAT CREATIVE SPPARK

honestly your persona doesn’t always have to directly represent you … so to speak.

you could be struggling because you’re restricting yourself and your mind on what you think should be included in persona design and what shouldn’t be included…

wut JJ said is totally true though
