The Endings

Hi everyone! It's so nice to see a little club for my new favorite game. I really loved the story and the characters, but I do feel a bit off about the direction that the endings went to. I understand that Lee is a pretty obsessive guy and isn't a forceful guy to Angel, but I feel like Angel should freak out a little more about his behavior? Especially with the stains on their jacket.

I really like the ship and story, don't get me wrong. But I couldn't help but think that the pacing was a bit too fast.

Hello!! Welcome to the group and I get you! At first, I thought Angel's reaction was also bizarre. I think that Angel might already have some kind of bad feeling about Lee? The entire game is in this, suspense air and it's hard to ignore, They might be a little bit aloof but I doubt Angel themselves didn't feel it either. The shrine was shocking at first but it started to click on Angel so the reality sink in hard on them :( (I also want to suggest Angel dissociated from the situation but we don't see a similar thing happening like in the clinic on week 6 so it's probably not that) I don't know if it's on purpose or not but the odd pacing really adds to the weirdness of everything, like these people and the situations are notttt normal, It gave me headaches trying to make sense of everything. I kinda love it.

But the jacket is very confusing to me because there's no way Angel didn't know what happened to it but they took it in the middle of the wash anyway. in the rejected route, they probably don't wanna be in that house for longer so just taking it despite it's state makes sense but in the acceptance route is?? Despite being in their pov, it's hard to tell what they think sometimes...

I agree, but I also somewhat understand why. I think Angel's situation going from loneliness to what happened with the coworker, family falling apart, and other stuff, didn't help them process Lee's obsession as a regular person would. Maybe feeling somewhat wanted by Lee made their reaction less extreme due to their relationships (or lack thereof).

I do think it was rushed, but for a small game made by a small team, I get why it might have felt that way. I think if you switched the scene where Angel gets the internet, doesn't find the "hole" and then find the shrine, it would have made more sense. The realization that no one cares, followed by seeing that Lee at least likes them (even obsessively), would go better with their lack of reaction.

I also agree that, even though we play as Angel, it's hard to know what they're thinking or feeling at times.

Also, I understand why there was no internet, but if there had been, Angel checking every single day and slowly realizing that no one ever bothered to text or cares about them would have hit harder and made the reaction make more sense. But that's just hypothetical and wouldn't connect with other aspects of the game. Just me ranting on how the game could have been.
