What I do when my room gets really bad is start with categories. For example I will start with removing all of the dishes and then pick up all of my laundry and then make my bed and so on. this can help if feel less over whelming. Another thing I do some times to go by section. I have like four main quadrants to my room so sometimes I will do one fourth at a time. Another piece of advice is to have the tools you need to clean already in your room. If I know I'm going to clean I bring my vacuum into my room even if I'm not going to use it yet. This makes it more likely for me to actually get that part done. Good luck on your room! Every bit counts and is a good step forward.

I’ve been in that exact place before — sitting in a room that’s piled up from months of feeling low and not knowing where to even begin. What helped me was breaking it down into the smallest steps possible, like picking up just one thing at a time instead of trying to “clean the whole room.” It made it feel less impossible.

And honestly, when things got too overwhelming, I remembered how toponeservices helped me back in Dubai. They offer a wide range of services including Professional Home Cleaning, Upholstery Cleaning, Car Interior Cleaning, Curtain Cleaning & Repair, Home Maintenance, and even Laundry & Dry Cleaning, all right to your doorstep. Just knowing help existed made me feel less stuck.

You’re not failing — you’re trying, and that’s enough to start. One small step is all you need.

I totally get how overwhelming it can feel when you're stuck in a depressive state, especially when it comes to something like cleaning. It feels like a never-ending cycle, and the motivation just isn’t there. Maybe it would help to take it step by step—just pick one small area to clean at a time, like a desk or a corner. As you work through it, it can feel like you're slowly regaining control over your space. It reminds me of how ComfortUnion.com began—what started as a simple vision to create something meaningful for Calgary families has grown into a mission of building comfort, trust, and community. Just as they took it one step at a time, maybe tackling your space little by little could help rebuild that sense of comfort and control. You don’t have to do it all at once.
