i started making one a few weeks ago n its still not done, but my main thing to look out for so far is pockets!!!! i think ive accidentally stitched together a pocket at least twice and had to cut out the patch and stitch it on again :// also for making patches my paints dont really show on the material, so does anyone know what else i can use on it for bright designs? if you have any political patches, aim to put them on the front of your jacket rather than the back just in case for safety purposes etc, and put other less controversial ones on the back!!

I suggest learning a vertical stitching pattern over a horizontal one idk if thats obv but its how I ruined my first jacket LOL

use 1/2 acrylic paint 1/2 fabric softener to match diy fabric paint, HAND WASH DO NOT MACHINE WASH AND AVOID WASHING AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE! You can wear undershirts to maximize ur usage between washes but if u must wash it just soak it in some COLD soapy water and then hang it to dry.

I use parchment paper to make stencils but tbh its hella annoying so if you know any more effective methods lmk lol

Make sure u got some political patches riiiiight up front. I tend to save my politcal onez specifically for jackets and I save the more artsy or funny ones for the back or just patch pants.
