eBay or the label/artist’s online store is my go-to when I’m not shopping local. Sometimes discogs too if what I want is hard to find and I spot it on there.

I get all mine second hand off eBay but I heard discogs is really good too but you need a paypal account to buy off there. If you live in australia Utopia Records is a really good site too n you can get patches from there n stuff

Lots of labels have their own shops online. Bands will also often have places they sell their merch (CDs included) through, either their own websites or online stores (such as indiemerchstore.com). If you want to support the band/artist directly that is usually the best bet.

Personally I do most of my buying through bandcamp.com, its a nice way to discover new music and since it is usually handled by either the label or the bands themselves its a way to support them directly which I like.

if you're in US there's enough on Bandcamp to last you a lifetime... they also seem to actually help support local artists.
