I'm very interested in listening to more vkei groups, but I've only listened to malice mizer(which i like a decent amount) and I don't know what direction to go in. My main genres otherwise are a lot of pop-punk, screamo, goth and metal. Are there any good bands that might have a similar sound or be a good start for me?

Hey there!
To be honest I'm quite new to visual kei too and Malice Mizer are my faves, but I also really love Buck-Tick and they're a classic, so I recommend starting from there. Also, since you like metal I think you will enjoy Moi dix mois, which is Mana's (Malice Mizer guitarist) band. Other than that I think Lareine and Versailles have a similar vibe, as well as some Sito Magus songs, but I also recommend other older bands like Raphael, Shazna, L'Arc en Ciel and LUNA SEA.

i saw you like metal and screamo, im not sure but dir en grey and thegazette could be good bands, dadaromais also a good band to start with theyre cool
