how to protest safely

***not shoplifting content but can be useful if you need it***

                                         


                                    preparation 


  1. write emergency contacts down on skin or on a paper inside your pocket

  2.  tie hair up

  3. black, grey or white clothing, wear long sleeves to protect from sun/chemicals 

  4. gloves

  5. mask and goggles 

  6. water for tear gas/pepper spray 

  7. cloth

  8. earplugs

  9. cash, and some sort of identification

  10. bandaids/first aid

  11. snacks/food

  12. turn off face id/touch id and go on airplane mode, and turn off data

  13. tennis shoes

  14. warm clothes in case you are detained 

  15. bring people you know and trust 

  




                                  protesting


   1. create an exit plan, look for streets, alleys, and places you can exit quickly and safely

   2. record if you see people getting hurt, police brutality, or violence 

   3. keep an eye out for police

   4. be aware of your surroundings, be observant and ready to record

   5. have a backup plan, if you can't drive, have someone pick you up

   6. cover tattoos, dyed hair

   7. bring signs

   8. stay safe
