Splatterpunk/Extreme Horror Recs!

I'm getting into the splatterpunk/extreme horror genre and really want some recs.

I'm currently reading Tender Is The Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica and personally have found it... honestly a bit boring for the most part. The first few chapter's made my stomach squirm, but after that it I was only really momentarily shocked by some stuff and bored by everything else (some chapters were genuinely interesting... but I'm here to be grossed out, which I wasn't).

I have a book list up on my blog if you wanna know what I'm already interested in, and I'm planning on doing some book reviews as well!

Anyways, please give me some good recs!!! I can handle gore really well, but I have a little trouble with dehumanization (which is what made me squirm in TITF) and the idea of coprophilia/coprophagia, so I'd prefer stuff with more bloody gore.

I also ask that you provide a description/summary/trigger list with the recs, I don't like going into these kinds of books completely blind.

Thanks!

The Troop by Nick Cutter is nice. Idk if it's splatterpunk but it's my favorite horror. You can google it on good reads. Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy is good too. These two are my favorites so far. I heard a lot of good things about Manhunt but I haven't read it yet. I'm reading Ladies night by Jack Ketchum as of late.

just the post i was looking for! i read a whole lot of extreme horror and (albeit much less) splatterpunk, i’ll drop a goodie!

Dead Inside , Chandler Morrison (162 pages, paperback)

- a necrophiliac, hospital security guard and a maternity doctor with a unique appetite for the small humans she works with, crossways with eachother, embarking on probably one of my favorite satirical extreme horror novels. definitely one of the more popular (and hated) books i own.

TWs: necrophilia, cannibalism, suicide, (necro)pedophilia, drug abuse (all off the top of my head)

ive got a whole lotta splatter/extreme horror books on my shelf, but i haven’t yet read them… (more than shown)

i’ve only looked into Exquisite Corpse a bit, same with Lapvona (because i’m great at finishing books…), so i can’t provide the best insight!

happy reading!

(quite the mess of a reply, lol!)

"In the Miso Soup" by Ryu Murakami is set in the red light district of japan, and includes sex violence, to be clear, but also has (what i found to be)almost comical scenes of gore. unsure if it will, but do be warned that the way one of the characters speaks about his own experiences might trigger your dehumanization, as he is written to be a "sociopath" completely removed from the "human experience," but who knows. It's definitely "splattercore."

to be concise: sex violence, sex work (including but not limited to by minors), pedophilia(the main character is 20-smthin dating a highschooler but it does not revolve or delve into it) violent gore, no necrophilia per se but does include the violation of a corpse.
