protecting your privacy online

we live in a technological world today that is driven by the sales of our personal information. these mega corporations offer us "free" services to use, when in reality we pay for those services with our personal data. while it may seem daunting, it is possible to migrate from the corpo spyware garbage to privacy-respecting open-source solutions.

for instance, i use to use google's gmail (and g-drive) services for everything, i use to love their stock android experience on their pixel phones, as well as other malicious tools like windows. since then, i've switched to using proton mail services and libre office, both respectable open-source options. i've removed google's stock os from my pixel and switched to graphene os, a fully open-source android rom focused on privacy and security. and, i've switched from windows on my laptop and gaming rig to full fledged linux mint (xfce). it took a couple of years and a lot of adjustment, but it was well worth it.

what systems do you utilize to protect your data? or are you just starting out on the journey?
