Hellooo

I've been on hormone therapy since almost 4 years now, but I don't have that much facial hair, almost only in the chin tbh, should I consider trying minoxidil? what's your experience with growing facial hair as a trans man?

Are your diying your hormones or doing them through a doctor? (Don't actually answer this question, don't incriminate yourself online) If you are seeing a doctor then it's best to speak to them and have your hormone levels checked.

Minoxodil is definately a good option but remember that it's all a genetic lottery. See if the men in your family grow beards

.____. I wouldn't even consider getting hormones from a non regulated/illegal source

I'm on hormonal replacement therapy cause I've been diagnosticated w/ chronic gender dysphoria; I wouldn't need it if that wasn't (n obviously bc of that I have the medical recipe 4 such treatment)

Also, I do relatively frequent blood tests that r checked by my endocrinologist n everything it's ok w/ my t  levels in blood

All the male members of my family have a lot of body hair, so idk but thanks 4 the info anyways :]

Hi! I've been on hormones 6.5 years. I didn't get much facial hair until year 5ish and even now it's still very patchy. Minodixil can work! You have to remember that it is fatally toxic to cats (and dogs i think).

weirdhouseplant is right in that it may be an issue with hormone levels, but this is not commonly the case. if you were to have imbalanced hormones, you would probably notice undesirable side effects (or lack of desired ones)

don't worry if you don't have facial hair at this point; alongside genetics, it can also be age-based. For example, I have a friend who started hrt several months after me, but he's 10 years older than me and got better facial hair faster than me.

Minox is a great starting point, and has even helped people pre-t, but don't be frustrated if it doesn't help out immediately, either. Everything is subjective to your own body.

if you need any other help with this feel free to msg me ^_^
