if you can talk to him in a call or in person, then do that. but if you cant, write him a long paragraph about how you really feel. just tell him the truth.Β

try to recognize how much more painful this breakup will be if you do it later rather than sooner. breakup's suck no matter what but dragging it on can be far far worse. hope all ends well for youπ
